The special mission of the Congregation of St.Anne of Tiruchirapalli is to uplift the special children. To widen this great service God had given a chance to establish a Special school at Vayalogam Joachim Nagar. This Joachim Nagar convent and the mission carried over the past years were different. It was an ITI from the year 1997 to 2000. Due to transport issues, ITI was shifted to Annavasal and the building was transformed into an old age home. The aged women were transferred to a new aged home at Irungalur and again it became a hostel for the students. God had a better plan for this place. It took years to reveal it to the eyes of humans.

              Finally, God’s call came in the voice of a DDAW officer in the district of Pudukkotai. We discerned it and accepted the will of God, started to modify the building for the needs of special students. Trusting in the Providence of God and the intercession of Mary our Mother, St. Joseph and Sts. Anne and Joachim on 03/06/2023 the school for the special children was inaugurated in the presence of Rev.Mother.Sr.Sahya Tamilarasi the Provincial Superior of Agnes Province of SAT. The beginners of the special home were Rev.Sr.Jeni Jerom Principal of St.Anne’s special school and Rev.Sr.Diasy Hilda the supporting staff with three special children.

         The renovation and the modification of the structure were completed and the entirely new special home was blessed by Most Rev. Dr. Arockia Raj the Bishop of Trichy on 30.01.2024. Rev.Mother Reginal, the Superior General of Sisters of St.Anne of Trichy opened the convent building, Rev.Mother Sr.Sahaya Tamilarasi revealed the inscription stone, very Rev Fr. Anthuvan Vicar General of the Trichy Diocese, Rev.Sr.Charles Rajam the Superior of the house, Rev.Sr.Jeni Jerom the Principal of the school and special children Lakshana and Singamuthu lighted the lamp.

Under the headship of Most Rev. Dr. Arockia Raj the Bishop of Trichy Diocese concelebrated solemn thanksgiving Holy Mass. Special invitees Sr. Mariammal the Assistant General, and Sr. Motcham Provincial Superior of Joachim Province of SAT  increased the happiness of the event with their presence. Reverend Fathers from the nearby parishes and sisters from Agnes Province communities shared their happiness, prayers and blessings. After the Holy mass small felicitation function was arranged to honour the guest, the Constructor and the supporting workers. The event was happily concluded with a welcome dance by Illupur school kids and a special dance by the Angels of this new campus.
